PRIORITIES - PAGE TWO

Look, it's the second page!

This is one of my favorite pages because I absolutely love that panel of Mudfish in silhouette sinking to the bottom of the ocean. I think it's because of his eyes. Harold did an amazing job with that panel. I can really feel the sense of confusion and surprise coming from him, simply from those eyes.

Mudfish was meant to be a throw away character (pun intended). Harold designed Mudfish from top to bottom. He had this vision of a slimy bottom dweller with part of an old metal diver’s suit on. The idea was that we just needed some kind of generic villain for Captain to toss out into the sea. Someone that could breath underwater, but couldn’t swim. Someone that launches a lone assault against the land dwellers once a month because it takes him that long to walk back to shore from a thousand miles out.

Then a sparse back story began to unfold off of the page.

I won’t get into it here, I mean, there really isn’t much to say at this point, but suffice it to say that I like old Mudfish. The kid’s got future story potential. So may see him again.

See you next week.
